Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Following
All people who call themselves Christians claim that they are following Christ. They will say, “That’s what Christian means, Christ follower.” Well, that is one definition, but another definition, and a more accurate one, is little Christ. But for this article let’s use Christ follower.

There is an outdoor game that kids used to play; well, they did when I was a kid. It’s called Follow the Leader; do you remember that game? What were the rules, do you remember? You had to do… what? Yes, that’s it; you had to do everything the leader did. And, what if you didn’t do everything the leader did? Oh, that’s right; you were kicked out of the game, you lost.

Well, now you are following the Christ, actually following Jesus, so you are going to do everything He did? By-the-way, Jesus didn’t tell you to sacrifice yourself on the cross so that others could be free from sin, that wouldn’t work.

Jesus talked about satan as the leader of liars, only He used the word father. He said to the Pharisees,
“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies,” (John 8:44 New International Version).
He was telling them that their lying is of their father (leader) who is against Him. Jesus is telling us who claim to follow Him, believe in, trust in, rely upon Him, puts faith in Him as Father and leader (That is Biblically what Lord means) then we will do what He did; follow the leader.
“I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows me in faith, believing in me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with my Father!” (John 14:12 The Passion Translation).
Jesus even had His writers go so far as to outline what he did so that even the hard of learning would understand. We know that He preached, we know that He prayed, hold right there. What did Jesus pray (petition and supplicate) about? He prayed in John chapter 17, but I don’t find anything in the about Him asking, anywhere in the Bible, for a person to be healed or for God to get rid of a demon. About casting out a demon Jesus simply said “Leave.” When it came to the sick Jesus may have laid hands on him and said, “Be healed.” In fact, He told us to do the same, He said,
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents (if there is a need); and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (Mark 16:17-18 King James Version).
For speaking in tongues you need to be baptized (anointed, enlightened, enveloped) in the Holy Spirit. For laying hands on the sick and telling the person to be healed, do it; the recovery will follow and it’s up to the sick person to receive.

The leader is the one who tells the follower what to do and, in Jesus’ case, even gives visual examples (He did it and said, “Copy me.”). It’s up to the follower to follow His example, not to interpret the instructions, unless he is called to and can give Biblical reasoning with more than one scripture.

There are also other games that adults designate as childish, they’re not, like the Copy-Cat game, where kids say and do the same things as their siblings. It’s been designated childish because it’s been used to annoy.

Also, there is Simon Says, where the player must do what the caller does when he says, “Simon says…” If the player doesn’t do something that the caller says, “Simon says” then the player is out. Simon is Jesus, the sibling to be copied is Jesus, the leader is Jesus; think about it.
