Get Out of the Water

People know the truth, but for the sake of other people they stay in the river.  Oh, you know what river I’m talking about.  DE-NILE (denial) lol.  People reject the truth because it is not popular.  When certain denominations preach God, but deny the power of the very God that they preach they are all wet, they are in de-nile.

When I was a newly baptized disciple (just baptized in the Holy Spirit) I used to hear negatives about speaking in tongues, people would say that tongues is of the devil and we are automatically baptized in the Holy Spirit when we confess Jesus as Lord.  Well, if I wasn’t just baptized in the Holy Spirit and already speaking in tongues I might have believed them.  But this, the following verse, happened to those who claimed Jesus, after they claimed Jesus.

“And when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in [unknown] tongues (languages) and prophesying,” (Acts 19:6 Amplified Bible).

The truth is there, it is denied because people are so afraid that they won’t fit in if they accept it.  Jesus drove out demons and laid hands on the sick (all types of sicknesses and diseases), and then told us who trust and believe in Him to do the same in His name.  How many people actually do that?  How many nut houses are full of demon-possessed victims who could be freed by us who believe?  How many hospitals?  Jesus said this,

“These are some of the signs that will accompany believers: They will throw out demons in my name, they will speak in new tongues,” (Mark 16:17 The Message).

“they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well,” (Mark 16:18b Holman Christian Standard Bible).  I purposely left out Mark 16:18a because it is widely misunderstood, there’s no allowance for tempting God in God’s word.

In saying that, plus John 14:12 plus John 14:15 and John 15:7, Jesus was placing the right, privilege and responsibility upon us to move out and do those things.  Of course, before we can do any of that we must do what Jesus said about being baptized in the Holy Spirit,

“In one of these meetings he told them not to leave Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came upon them in fulfillment of the Father’s promise, a matter he had previously discussed with them,” (Acts 1:4 Living Bible).  In other words; wait for the Holy Spirit baptism.

So, to put it in as few simple words as can be understood, God gave command for those who would believe to do these things.

  1. Confess Jesus as Lord

  2. Wait for the baptism in the Holy Spirit

  3. Go and do (be a representative)

Now, how many people will do those three things the way God wants them done?  Or are you going to be wet, in the river (de-nile (denial)) and strike out on your own while thinking that you are doing it His way?
