Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

With a new look
Disciples of Jesus
A few weeks ago, God gave me a simply prophecy. It started with a question; He said, “You are my children, but are you disciples of Jesus?” Jesus is the Christ, made the Christ by the baptism and anointing of the Holy Spirit.
“And you no doubt know that Jesus of Nazareth was anointed by God with the Holy Spirit and with power, and he went around doing good and healing all who were possessed by demons, for God was with him,” (Acts 10:38 Living Bible).
Most Christians that I know will look at that question and automatically answer “yes” without a thought that God might be asking us to think. Ya see, many verses in the Bible use the word disciples in the place of the word follower; indeed, many of the definitions in the English dictionary also say follower. But the last line of the definitions actually says that a disciple is one who learns by doing.

I remember, a long time ago, my pastor, was sharing about the word disciple, he broke it down to the root words meaning disciplined learner. Now, in the natural; how many children actually learn much of anything from their big brother, want to be like and do like their big brother? But they are still children of their father. I know I was definitely a child of and well loved by my father, but I sure wasn’t and never will be a disciple of my big brother, not in the natural.

Now we can add something more to learning by doing. We can also learn by being. Let me clarify.
“To this He answered, “No worries. That time is not now, and you don’t need to know when it will be. Just know this, you shall be enveloped in power once you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. This must be by your acceptance because the Father will never force anything upon anyone. But when you have this power you will witness—represent and spread the good news—of me, starting at home then spreading out,” (Acts 1:7-8 Steadfast in Honor).
Jesus wants his people to represent Him, and the main thing that needs to be undergone in order to represent Him is the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father,” (John 14:12 New Living Translation).
What’s, pretty much, unfortunate about this is that every child of God who has, at one time, confessed that Jesus is Lord thinks they actually do believe in Jesus. You’re right, that should be true, but I said thinks for a reason. Jesus said that the one who believes will do (actually saying that believing would be copying Him), but those who say that they believe also say they can’t do those things, except they can preach. That’s where the Holy Spirit baptism comes in; you may not be able to do them—by yourselves—but with the help of the Holy Spirit, the very Spirit who helped Jesus do the same things, you can.
“These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak in new tongues; [if necessary] they will pick up serpents, and if they drink anything deadly, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well,” (Mark 16:17-18 Amplified Bible).
A new tongue is a tongue that you don’t know and you can’t truly speak in a new tongue without the Holy Spirit. Laying hands on the sick without the Holy Spirit will get no results, it’s just going through the motions. Don’t even try to drive out a demon without the Holy Spirit, it might decide to take you over and without the Holy Spirit in you it could.
So, to answer the question where God said, “You are my children, but are you disciples of Jesus?” Maybe you should think before you automatically answer. You might not be where you should be.
