Faith Works and So Does Love

“For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love,” (Galatians 5:6 King James Version).

Faith works by love.  You may claim that you have all the faith in the world, having confessed Jesus as Lord; but if you are not walking in and living by love—God’s love—your faith will not get you anything from God.  That’s because you have all the faith in the world and not in Love—God.

I have been around for a good while and I’ve seen how people who claim faith don’t seem to be getting anywhere.  But almost all of those people are church going people, claiming to be Christians.  So, why is their faith not really producing?  Well, I’ve also seen those people outside of the church setting: you wouldn’t even know that they are children of God, no love is manifested.

That’s right, I said no love is manifested, it doesn’t show.  You probably know, by now, that God is Love and Jesus is God among us.  So, Jesus is Love, and the works that Jesus did are works of Love.  Well, when we were born-again we were made representatives of Him and Love was fully invested in us.  That means that we, born-again, true Christians have this Love so much in us that it should manifest through us at the drop of a proverbial hat, on a whim, from the word ‘Go.’  Then our faith will produce.

“For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also,” (James 2:26 King James Version).

Since faith works by love and faith without works is dead we can deduce that these works that James is talking about are works of Love.  These are the works that Jesus did, the same works that He told those who truly believe in Him to do.

“I assure you: The one who believes in Me will also do the works that I do. And he will do even greater works than these, because I am going to the Father,” (John 14:12 Holman Christian Standard Bible).

Now, faith works by love, which is manifest in works—expressions of Jesus—to everyone.  But you know as well as I that there are people in the world, I’m sure you’ve met many, who just make it next to impossible to love.  For those people it takes love that works by faith; you need to have to fulness of faith in Love (Jesus) to love those people.  You are going to have to draw all the ‘Faith-Love’ that you can muster up to get your faith to work.  Do it by faith, do it by Love, just do it by the power and the blood of Jesus and with the help of the Holy Spirit of God.  Because, unless you can love that ugly, unlovely person your faith will be useless, and if you don’t use your faith in Jesus to love him/her you can’t.  It’s a total mesh.

“So faith comes from hearing the message, and the message that is heard is what Christ spoke,” (Romans 10:17 GOD’S WORD Translation).

You can’t do this by following the world’s ways.  The only way that you are going to do this is by hearing and acting upon God’s word, the message of Jesus.  Use the name of Jesus when you lay hands on the sick for healing, it will work, don’t worry.  The authority is there in that name to drive out demons from possessed people.  Just do it by faith, and the love the will come forth will help you to live by faith as you help others.
