Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Resistance
If any of you have watched Star Trek: The Next Generation you may have heard the line, “Resistance is futile.” Well the truth of the matter, talking about God’s word, is not that resistance is futile but that it’s stupid to resist when God wants to use you to do something. Oh, God will get it done through someone, He has more obedient children than you know; but if you do it you will reap the credit for the obedience (you will be credited for being obedient).
“Dear friend who loves God: In my first letter I told you about Jesus’ life and teachings and how he returned to heaven after giving his chosen apostles further instructions from the Holy Spirit,” (Acts 1:1-2 The Living Bible).
Jesus began; God has never left anything incomplete, interrupted for a while but never incomplete. Why, do you think, did Jesus compare Himself to a kernel of wheat?
“Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds,” (John 12:24 New International Version).
Jesus was One when He was on the Earth as One. But Jesus fell to the ground and died. What did Jesus say about being lifted up? I’ll tell you. He said, “If I be lifted up from the Earth I will draw all men to me,” (John 12:32). I just heard a good song, an older song, from Keith Green, called He’ll Take Care of the Rest. That means you do what Jesus tells you to do; don’t overthink it because you would probably think you way out of it and into resistance. And when you do that you get into refusing and rebelling.
You don’t have to see the results before you do the action, and you most likely won’t. Jesus said to lay hands on the sick and they shall recover; but you figure that because you aren’t the healer it would be futile to lay hands on them. You lay your hands on them in Jesus’ name and He will take care of the rest. Jesus said for you to use His name and drive out demons from people who are demon possessed; but you can’t understand how that would work. You do it and He will take care of the rest. He told you to speak in unknown (unlearned) tongues; but you think, “Wait a minute…” (whatever you think). You do it and He will take care of the rest.

Of course, you need to be anointed (baptized, enveloped, cover by) the Holy Spirit before you can do these supernatural actions; otherwise, you are just going through the motions.
“The followers asked Joshua, ‘Are You going to establish Your kingdom here on Earth now?’

“To this He answered, ‘No worries. That time is not now, and you don’t need to know when it will be. Just know this, you shall be enveloped in power once you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. This must be by your acceptance because the Father will never force anything upon anyone. But when you have this power you will witness—represent and spread the good news—of me, starting at home then spreading out,’” (Acts 1:6-8 Steadfast in Honor).
I might have even done some things that God originally wanted done by someone else, they resisted and God gave me the work. If you are an obedient Holy Spirit baptized disciple of Jesus then God may have had you do some things that other children of His resisted. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just that they would have be credited in heaven and maybe reaped the rewards on Earth if they did not resist. Hopefully, they will learn not to resist God, the God whom they say they believe. Resistance is not futile, but it is stupid.
