Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

Be a Receiver Also
As I said, if you give and give, but won’t receive, you could be in thievery. Actually, you would be robbing God. Yes, that’s the same God who talked about giving being greater than receiving.
“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive,’” (Acts 20:35 New International Version).
Jesus, God on Earth, said it is more blessed—better—to give; He didn’t say that it’s only good to give, not to receive. But God wants, so much, to give to you; that is why Jesus said in Mark 11:24,
“This is the reason I urge you to boldly believe for whatever you ask for in prayer—believe that you have received it and it will be yours,” (Mark 11:24 The Passion Translation).
Remember, giving doesn’t open the door to receiving; but it does unlock the door. It is your will that opens the door. If you hadn’t figured out what I am telling you—what the Lord has been telling you—yet, maybe this will help.

I used to know a guy from my old church who acted like he thought it was up to him to finance the church and all the missionaries. He had a job but he was living in a one room apartment or in a low income area. Why? Well, he was definitely a giver. But he didn’t have the will to be a receiver. Of course, I am talking about receiving the good stuff from God, not old stuff that nobody else really wants anymore. It is not normal for people who don’t know you to simply walk up to you and—for no specific reason—just hand you money.

Now, when I was taken out of work because of an illness and was living with my folks, I had no money. At the time I knew nothing about giving, but I knew change was inevitable. Then I learned about giving and I earned five dollars from mowing my neighbor’s lawn, so I started tithing and giving. I was still living at my folk’s house. Soon, I had to move out, which meant I was going to have to start receiving from God and depend on Him. Well, the door to receiving was unlocked now because I began giving a while ago: now I had to open that door by my will and my prayers of faith.

Well, that was over 30 years ago and I am on disability because of hospitalization. But because I started the tithing and giving life style and the will to receive is in operation God is taking very good care of me. He uses other givers to give me the good stuff. A while ago I bought my first house and was given some nice furniture, the Livingroom set looked new. Now, I am in my second house and I because I gave that furniture away God is having someone give my more furniture.

You can’t out give God, how many times have you heard that? Well, it’s true; but if you won’t receive from God soon your giving will wane or be rotten.
