When God created Adam, He created a son.  Later, that son yielded to the devil and gave up a whole lot; he became what we would call a sinner.  Well, allow me to give the definition of a sinner, first, according to Jesus.

“about sin [and the true nature of it], because they do not believe in Me [and My message].” (John 16:9 Amplified Bible).  Read John 16:8-11.

What Jesus was saying is, to put it plainly, a sinner is someone who doesn’t believe in Him, and believe is to do like.  How many people who think of themselves as Christians yet call themselves ‘sinners saved by grace,’ which is a duplicitous remark?  Either they are Christians, children of God, blood bought, righteous, sanctified; or they are sinners.  Now, which are you?

People, many who call themselves Christians, want to stay broken.  Before we put our faith in and believed in Jesus we were all broken sinners.  But once we have made the decision to put our faith in and believe in, copy-do like, Jesus The Christ (this includes receiving the baptism or anointing with the Holy Spirit of God and speaking/praying in unknown tongues) we are no longer broken sinners.

“Of course not! Should we keep on sinning when we don’t have to? For sin’s power over us was broken when we became Christians and were baptized to become a part of Jesus Christ; through his death the power of your sinful nature was shattered,” (Romans 6:2-3 Living Bible).

“We are pressed on every side by troubles, but not crushed and broken. We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but we don’t give up and quit,” (2 Corinthians 4:8 Living Bible)

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior (calls Him Lord)], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition (he’s not a sinner anymore)] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life],” (2 Corinthians 5:17 Amplified Bible).

2 Cor. 5:17 implies that if you want to be a sinner then you should not become in Christ, then you would have no possibility of going to heaven.  And according to 2 Cor. 4:8 and Ro. 6:2-3 you can stay broken if you don’t come to Christ.

2 Cor. 5:17 implies that if you want to be a sinner then you should not become in Christ, then you would have no possibility of going to heaven.  And according to 2 Cor. 4:8 and Ro. 6:2-3 you can stay broken if you don’t come to Christ.

If “My” old self, your old self, that’s the sinner part of you, has be crucified with Jesus then it is dead, crucifixion is a death blow.  And that is the part of you that was broken; broken means not working, crushed, separated from what works.

Jesus came to repair the breached, the is the broken.  So, confessing that you are broken and a sinner, even saying that you are a ‘sinner saved by grace,’ is confessing a lie.  Franchesca Batistelie (however the name is spelled) has a song that says, “Truth is harder than a lie,” which is true if you have grown up lying and are accustomed to lying.  But, if you will put away much of what you hear from the world, that includes much of the preaching from worldly-Christian preachers, and study your Bible in many translations and versions you should be able to learn truth it spite of all the confusion.

So. Say this with me and the Apostle Paul, “My old self [which includes the broken sinner in me] has been crucified with Jesus.  Now, it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and on me since I am baptized in God’s Holy Spirit.   So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.  Hallelujah!”

Are You a Sinner, or a Child of God?
