Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty."

You Choose
I have heard songs and people talking that said that God made them do something. No, He didn’t; fact is He doesn’t make you do anything. When God created man (the blueprint of mankind) He gave him the inalienable right to choose when He gave man his own will. A man’s will is his ability to choose his own actions, to choose what type of person he is going to be, to choose how he is going to react; in other words his will is his ability to choose. And nowhere in the Bible does God ever tell anyone that He is going to override his choice or take his will away.

I can be grumpy and complaining, argumentative and stupid if I choose to be. I can be honest, faithful, obedient, kind, all of those good traits that come from God if I choose to be. Ya see, God gave each and every one of us our own will (the authority and ability to choose each moment what we are going to be).
“Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!” (Deut. 30:19 New Living Translation).
God doesn’t make us do anything; He gives provision, reason, and tells us to make the choice. So, when God sent Jesus and Paul said,
“because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved,” (Romans 10:9 Amplified Bible),
you had the choice of whether you wanted to believe that or believe that you can simply confess that Jesus is Savior and call yourself a Christian. Prime example: we have Philippians 4:13-19 as all one topic which Paul was writing to those who decided (made a conscious choice) to become financial partners with him, and many people choose to take verse 19 out and use it alone. Verses 19 starts with the word “And,” which indicates to me that there must be something before it, a reason why it is written. Another example is John 14:12.
“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father,” (John 14:12 New Living Translation).
Many people choose to think that they can believe in Jesus and do the greater works. But wait, greater works than what? Again there is the “And,” which means there is something before it, and what is before the greater works is the works that Jesus did. The next verse starts with “And.”
“And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son,” (John 14:13 New International Version).
That tells me that He is looking for us to do our part and He will do His. Mark 16:17-20 expands upon these two verses. The thing is that if we ‘hunker down’ and decide to do what He said then He will get right in there and work with us to confirm His works.

I have a phrase that I use when I am praying over my food; I say, “I am a covenant man; so, I will do what God tells me to do and Let Him handle what He said He would do.” That means what He tells me to do, both what He has had written down and what He tells me verbally, I will do; and I will depend on Him to do what He had written that He would do.
